Drug and Alcohol Abusing Teenagers
The number of drugs and alcohol abusing teenagers is increasing year by year. Drugs and alcohol abuse is a serious problem in many countries. Drugs and alcohol can deprave young generation. Moreover drug and alcohol abuse can immobilize the nation. Besides, some internal and external factors can lead the teens consume drugs and alcohol. In short, drugs and alcohol abusing teenagers are due to the lack of parental supervision, lack of reinforcement of drugs laws, and social and psychological problems.
Firstly, drugs and alcohol abusing teenagers are due to lack of parental supervision. Sometime parents are busy to work all day. Thus, teens are out of their parents’ monitoring. However, most of those busy parents easily give their children permission without limit. They also give less attention of whom their children hang out with and where the children are going to go. In this case, parents should take a time to monitor their children and give spiritual education to prevent them from drugs and alcohol.
Secondly, drugs and alcohol abusing teenagers are because of the lack of reinforcement of drugs law. The law is not really upheld by the government. The term of imprisonment is too short, so the trader or the consumer will never repent it. However, the government must revise the law. The government should take an action to give long term punishment to both consumer and trader.
Last, social and psychological problems of the teens cause drugs and alcohol abuse. Teens are labile. Their emotional is unstable, especially the teens who have problem background in their family. They will feel the great depressed because of divorce. So they will do anything to stop the feeling. In this case, they take drugs and alcohol. However, they who consume drugs and alcohol don’t have good emotional intelligence. Whereas, there are many positive ways to reduce the depression, such as: joining organization, playing music, doing sport, etc.
